Simply Sarah

We had been wanting to help Sarah get over her binky addiction, and during vacation we decided to do it.  We pretended we had left the binky at one of the waterfalls and Sarah seemed to be okay with it.

Well, mostly okay. She did pretty well during the day, only asking for it a few times the first couple of days.  The nights, however, were pretty hairy.  Anyway, she’s off it now, which is, of course much better for her in the long run (especially her teeth) even though it may have cost her and us some blood, sweat and tears.

Sarah has been saying a lot of new things this week.

When she burps, she says: “scuse me”.

We were driving home the other night, and Jo was trying to get Lisa to turn the light by her seat off.  She finally resorted to the old parental trick of counting to three.  She didn’t get very far, because after having said, “one”, Sarah helped her out by adding: “two!”

Yesterday, she looked at a Lisa’s empty bowl of rice and said, “no rice”.

Today, she ran to the closet where we keep our jackets and said, “my jacky”.
